Greek Yogurt Smoothies

Greek yogurt smoothies have a delicious thick and creamy texture to them. They are also really healthy and will give you that much needed boost for when you begin your day. Few foods can pack such a healthy punch in such a small serving as Greek yoghurt can. On this page your going to discover my favourite ten Greek yogurt smoothies and I’ll teach you exactly how to create them!

So what separates Greek yogurt from your other types of yoghurt? Well, Greek yogurt has the same number of calories as normal yoghurt, however it has double the amount of protein with half the sugar content. So its defiantly a win-win situation when you include it in your smoothies!

you will love this smoothie without yogurt

Ultimately, Greek yoghurt is much more healthy than regular yoghurt.

I often use the smoothies shown below as post workout smoothies. This is because the Greek yogurt adds lots of natural protein into the drink without me having to add protein powder.

But no – the benefits don’t stop there. Not only is it full of protein, Greek yogurt has other nutritional benefits too! Here is just a few of them:

  • 1 cup of Greek yoghurt has 23 grams of protein – almost half of an adults recommended daily intake. Therefore you feel fuller for a longer period of time and therefore thic encourages healthy weight loss/maintenace
  • Supplies your body with calcum
  • Supplies your body with potassium
  • Vitamin’s D, A and B12
  • It also has a lower lactose content than regular yogurt. Thus, it is much easier to digest and therefore it is far more safe for people who are mildly lactose intolerant.
Note: Different brands of Greek yoghurt have different amounts of protein. I always choose the brand with the highest protein content. Check the yoghurt box for more details.

Indeed, the other benefit that Greek yogurt has is that it contains lots of calcium. This benefits your teeth and bones.

If I pop down to my local convenience store, I usually choose the plain full-fat Greek yogurt (just out of personal preference.) However, there is also a nonfat Greek yogurt which you may prefer to use.

I hope you enjoy drinking these Greek yogurt smoothies as much as I enjoyed creating them!
