The Secret to Creamy, Dairy Free Fruit Smoothies

One of the best things about frozen fruit smoothies is that you can achieve the creaminess of ice cream, without using any dairy! This makes them a fabulous frozen treat for those who are allergic to dairy and gluten. A simple combination of fruits and ice, and you have a frozen creamy treat to rival any ice cream.

There is a secret to making fruit smoothies creamy, though! After all, one can not just throw any old fruits into the blender and expect them to combine together into a creamy concoction! There are three certain fruits that are special, and the key to adding creaminess to the end result of your fruit blending experience!

1) The Common Banana

The most common and inexpensive magic fruit is the banana. Who would have believed that the banana could turn a blended combination of fruit into something akin a creamy ice cream?! A simple, cheap, everyday banana. I guess it is not just for adding to the top of the cereal anymore!

The common banana has a special secret though.. When you blend a banana and then let it sit, it will quickly solidify again into a pudding-like texture. A banana is a wonderful way to make a simple dairy free chocolate pudding!

3) The Sweet Mango

The mango is perhaps the best way to turn your fruit smoothies creamy. It’s sweet taste, pleasant color, and smooth texture is the perfect combination to achieve perfect results every time. Mango is my family’s favorite way to create creamy sorbets and creamy fruit smoothies.

By using frozen fruit, your preparation time is reduced to quick and easy. So much so that these frozen fruit smoothies will soon have you looking at blenders for smoothies that will hold up to all of the blendings these sweet fruit smoothies will inspire!

Creating creamy, dairy-free fruit smoothies is quite easy when you have any of these fruits on hand. Simply add them into your blender with your other fruits of choice to whip up a creamy treat.
