Chocolate Banana Smoothie with Cashew and Coconut!

My yummy Chocolate Banana Smoothie incorporates raw cashews and shredded coconut to make it extra luscious and rich. And best of all, it’s actually guilt-free and good for you! None of my healthy smoothie recipes use refined sugar or other junky ingredients.

Did you ever think the words “healthy” and “chocolate” would go together?

I’ve got some other chocolatey goodies up my sleeve! Some of my favorite creations are myeasy chocolate recipes. They’re super healthy because they use raw cacao (a superfood) instead of sugary processed chocolate. So you can indulge your sweet tooth without worrying about your waistline!

The best chocolate recipe, in my opinion, is one that’s so good for you, you can even have it for breakfast!

How to make a knock-out Chocolate Banana Smoothie:

Chocolate Banana Smoothie with Cashew and-Coconut

Chocolate Banana Smoothie with Cashew and-Coconut

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas (look for the brown spots!)*
  • 1 heaping tbsp raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup RAW cashews (I recommend soaking them overnight to make them easier to digest)
  • 2 tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 2 frozen bananas (Simply peel the bananas, break them into 2 or 3 pieces, and pop them in your freezer before you go to bed at night. When you wake up, they’ll be ready for you).
  • 1/4 cup water

Makes 1 large or 2 small servings.

*For maximum flavor, make sure your bananas are fully ripe before you freeze them! Never use unripe bananas in your recipes. They should have plenty of brown spots, like this:

Raw cacao is considered a “superfood.” It’s unsweetened, unprocessed, unrefined chocolate. It’s the real thing! You can buy it at many grocery stores, including Whole Foods. This is what it looks like:

Directions:

You will blend the Chocolate Banana Smoothie in 2 stages:

  1. Place the room-temperature bananas, water, the raw cashews, shredded coconut and raw cacao powder into your blender and blend until very smooth.
  2. Next, add the frozen bananas and blend until very creamy and smooth. There should be no chunks!

Ready to drink immediately. Enjoy every guilt-free sip!

TIP: This Chocolate Banana Smoothie makes a splendid breakfast! Have it instead of that dry old boring bowl of cereal or that ho-hum bagel. It’s a perfect meal when you’re in a rush and just need to get out the door.

This is why women are stereotypically so drawn to eat chocolate, because it gives a little boost to our spirits and our energy.
